Our Bed Bug Control Process
Inspection
An inspection is a vital first step in the bed bug control process. We’ll carefully inspect the area where you have been experiencing problems, looking for any signs of an infestation. These include seeing the bugs themselves and looking for feces marks, blood spots, egg casings, and more. We’ll thoroughly inspect every area in the room, then move to other rooms in the house to determine if the infestation has spread. Upon completion of the inspection, we’ll let you know if your infestation is light, medium, or heavy and will recommend a course of treatment depending on our findings.
Treatment
Before our arrival for your treatment, we’ll give you a prep list of tasks to complete. The number of tasks will depend on the severity of the infestation. For example, in the case of a light infestation, you’ll need to launder all bedding.
Once we arrive to perform your service, we’ll apply a liquid treatment to cracks and crevices and general surfaces where larvae may hide. We’ll also treat any items that may be hosting bed bugs. We also recommend that you buy mattress encasements that we will place on mattresses after we’ve finished treatment. The treatment process takes between two and eight hours, depending on the size of the treatment area. You’ll need to leave your home for a minimum of four hours to allow the treatment to dry.
Follow Up
Two weeks after your initial treatment, we’ll return to your home to discuss with you whether you’ve noticed any more bed bugs and to perform another inspection. If bed bugs are still present, we will do a second treatment.
